Sergey Maltsev (aged 47) was appointed Chief Executive Officer and executive member of the Board in March 2008. As one of the founding shareholders of the Company he has played a key role in the development of Globaltrans from its establisment to its current position as the leading private freight rail group operating in Russia and the CIS. He has more than 25 years of industry and management experience, gained mainly in the rail sector. His previous positions include management roles at PromSnab and MMK-Trans. Mr. Maltsev also serves as Chairman of presidium of the non-profit partnership “Council of Railway Operators Market”. In recognition for his services to the Russian rail industry, Mr. Maltsev has been awarded the title of “Honored Railwayman of Russia”. He graduated with a degree in Railway engineering.
